What Tesamorelin Is

It is a synthetic peptide carrying all 44 amino acids of human GHRH plus a trans-3-hexenoic acid group on the N-terminus, a modification that protects it from being cut by dipeptidyl aminopeptidase. What the Human Data Shows

The randomised data comes from HIV-associated lipodystrophy, which is the approved indication. A meta-analysis of four trials covering 909 patients on 2 mg found visceral fat down by 21.47 cm2, waist down 1.61 cm and trunk fat down 1.20 kg, with lean mass up 1.42 kg. A second meta-analysis of five trials put visceral fat 27.71 cm2 lower and liver fat 4.28 percent lower, while subcutaneous fat and BMI did not move.
